Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the platform, and information related to billing:

  • Account information. Name, work email, company name, and authentication details when you or your organization create an account.
  • Usage and telemetry. Metering events, API calls, feature usage, log data, device and browser information, and IP address, collected to operate billing, entitlements, and to improve the product.
  • Billing information. Billing is handled by our payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers; our processors provide us with limited billing metadata (such as payment status and card type) needed to operate your account.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the UnitPay platform, including metering, billing, invoicing, and entitlement enforcement.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
  • Monitor, debug, and improve product performance and reliability.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how our website and product are used. We use product analytics tools, such as PostHog, to capture aggregate usage patterns and improve the platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain features of the site or product.

4. Subprocessors

We share information with a limited set of subprocessors who help us operate the platform, each bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations:

  • Hosting. Vercel, for application hosting and content delivery.
  • Payment processing. Payment processors such as Stripe, for billing, invoicing, and payment collection.
  • Analytics. Product analytics providers such as PostHog, for usage insights.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Usage and telemetry data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, and improve reliability, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Opt out of certain uses, including analytics and marketing communications.

7. International Transfers

UnitPay, Inc. is based in the United States, and information we collect may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our subprocessors operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect information transferred internationally.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

UnitPay is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
